Being pregnant is so precious and your body changes so much in such a short space of time, that I think a maternity photoshoot is the perfect way to capture that special journey.
If you read my other blog HollyGoesLightly
, then you'll know I'm into photography and when I fell pregnant, I knew that I'd want to have some photos to look back on. In steps Emmylou Kelly
- an incredibly talented Lifestyle Photographer, based in Manchester.
I met Emmylou about a year ago and we instantly hit it off. You know when you meet someone and you just click and are totally on the same wavelength? Being a mum herself, I knew instantly that she'd be the best person for the job of photographing me and my bump, in my home.
I wanted to capture the special time of being pregnant, in a relaxed way, in the comfort of my own bedroom and Emmylou's style and approach made for a fun and comfortable shoot. We tried a few different outfits and I attempted to manoeuvre myself (and my bump) into a number of comfortable positions. We used natural light and soft fabrics and I'm so happy with the results. The soft focus makes for a dream-like feel and I know I'll look back on these photos fondly for years to come.
At this stage, I'm 32 weeks pregnant.
I'm planning another shoot soon with my hubby, as he's part of this special journey too of course! So keep your eyes peeled for maternity photoshoot round 2!
I'd love to see your maternity photoshoots and feature them here on the blog. If you're interested, please leave a comment below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
