I was lucky enough to be on holiday during weeks 22-23 of my pregnancy, which turned out to be much needed rest and relaxation! My bump had a bit of a growth spurt and generally seems more rounded and full. People are definitely noticing now. It's a nice feeling to have a proper bump. The baby must be moving around a lot and my belly is fuller some days, so I guess this is due to the positioning of the little one.  (more…)

Well this fortnight I've noticed that I'm energetic in the mornings, but struggling with long days and knackered in the afternoons. During weeks 20-21 of my pregnancy, I've also noticed that I'm tossing and turning more in my sleep, so presuming I'm not as comfortable. I occasionally get slight stiffness or cramp in my hips, so have to keep moving and my pregnancy pillow is really coming in useful. I also find that sometimes, subconsciously, I go to stretch out in my sleep and when I do, my tummy cramps a bit so I have to stop myself. I'm guessing this is because the muscles are stretching etc, but it's annoying when I'm half asleep and just fancy a good stretch! (more…)

Yay! I finally have a bump worth writing home about and I'm so happy. Does that sound really silly? I should probably be glad that at Week 19, I still haven't put on a single lb, but I was starting to feel like Mother Nature was depriving me of that all important signature of pregnancy...the perfectly rounded bump. But, as if by magic, one has sprouted up almost overnight! (more…)

My pregnancy weeks 17 to 18 saw a bit more growth to my bump, but not quite as much as I expected. Although I'm not sure if this is just because I'm looking at it every day, so not really noticing the changes. Appetite is still there but I'm not eating loads like I know some mums-to-be are at this stage. Trying to be as balanced as possible, but do find I'm enjoying carbs and stodge most, so am trying to make a concerted effort to eat more fruit and veg. (more…)

I've started to notice some significant growth in the little bump area this last 2 weeks - which I'm super happy and relieved about. I had started to feel like nothing much was happening or changing and was even a little bit envious of other mums-to-be at this stage who seemed to have bigger bumps then me (silly I know!).  (more…)

Week 13 came with more energy, more hunger and a growing tummy! I needed to be on my feet a lot this week, travelling up and down the country for work and although I was feeling more energised and not quite as exhausted, I was aching a lot and feeling the effects of longer days on my feet. I realised I need to break up weeks like this and make sure I get enough rest whenever I could. The pregnancy chair at work was helping when I was in the office. (more…)

Week 12 was my favourite week so far in my pregnancy, mainly because we'd had our first scan so I was able to relax and I felt like we'd reached our first proper milestone. We were entering the second trimester...ooooh... I was starting to feel more human again. My energy levels were slowly increasing and I wasn't needing to sleep as soon as I got home from work anymore. Naps on weekends reduced too. My appetite was starting to return and as long as I ate regularly, the sickness seemed to be at bay. I was eating larger portions now too and finishing my plate of food for the first time in weeks.
